Services at Lotus Speech Academy
At Lotus Speech Academy, we provide individualized, play-based therapy for children ages 0–6. We specialize in neurodiversity-affirming, evidence-based practices rooted in connection, regulation, and communication.
Early Intervention
Little ones are my specialty, and it is absolutely critical to address speech and language challenges as soon as possible to optimize outcomes. The earlier we intervene, the better the long-term impact on your child’s communication skills and developmental milestones. If you have concerns about your child’s speech, language, or overall development, I’m here to provide expert guidance and support. Through tailored activities, we can build a strong foundation for lifelong communication skills, paving the way for success in both academic and social settings.
Speech Therapy
Speech therapy is about more than just words. It’s about building connections, understanding, and the confidence to communicate. Whether your child is struggling with articulation, language development, or apraxia of speech, I create a safe, nurturing environment where they can thrive. My therapy approach focuses on developing foundational communication skills, from early language milestones to more complex speech and conversation abilities. Together, we’ll work on improving your child’s ability to express themselves and engage meaningfully with the world.
Augmentative and Alternative Communication (AAC)
AAC is an essential tool for children who struggle with speech but still need to communicate. I am well-versed in using AAC to support children with speech delays or disabilities, utilizing both low-tech options like picture boards and high-tech devices. My focus is on empowering children to express themselves more effectively and confidently through the right AAC tools. I work closely with you to ensure that the AAC system chosen aligns with your child’s needs and is integrated seamlessly into their daily life, supporting their communication in a meaningful way.
Feeding Therapy
Feeding therapy is vital for children who struggle with eating, swallowing, or managing food textures. It is not uncommon for children to experience feeding difficulties, which can impact their overall health and development. Whether your child is a picky eater, has oral motor challenges, or experiences difficulty swallowing, I work with you and your child to improve feeding skills, making mealtimes more enjoyable and less stressful. I am trained in SOS (Sequential Oral Sensory), Beckman Oral Motor, and NEOHealth services for myofunctional therapy, ensuring a comprehensive, multi-faceted approach to addressing feeding challenges.
Orofacial Myology Therapy
Orofacial myology therapy addresses the muscles of the face and mouth, which play a critical role in speech, eating, and breathing. If your child experiences issues such as a tongue tie, mouth breathing, or improper tongue posture, orofacial myology therapy can help. With specialized training in NEOHealth services for myofunctional therapy, I use targeted exercises and techniques to strengthen and retrain the muscles of the mouth and face, improving functional and developmental aspects of speech, feeding, and breathing.
